     BAPI's can never raise exception its like a basic rule of bapi the reason for this is bapi are mostly called in a non sap system which doesn't know what is a exception.if you need to know more about how bapis work check with T-code SWO1.

The reason for the dump (Which i think) is you are fetching the data in a work area use a internal table in select query.
